The War and Body Exhibition runs from the 8th to 13th June 2010. It is organised by the War and Media Network and part of the MARS Project.

It jointly was inspired by discussions at the MARS workshop in April 2010 and the War and Body Conference organised by Kevin McSorley (Portsmouth University), Sarah Maltby (MARS Coordinator and War and Media Network) and Gavin Schaffer (Portsmouth University).

War is embodied in art through the lived experience of the artist who mediates and bears witness to war's transformative power. The War and the Body Exhibition explored the intertwining of war and body in the sculpture, drawing, painting, photography and installation art work of 11 contemporary artists. Artists were resident throughout the exhibition and discussed their work at the private view evening on the 10th June.
